Documenting the Frontline Population of Ahmedabad City

This photo essay centers around the documentation of individuals residing in economically disadvantaged communities within Ahmedabad City. The process of gentrification in the city has resulted in these communities being pushed into compact neighborhoods with inadequate infrastructure. Additionally, these neighborhoods often bear a disproportionate brunt of the effects of climate change due to their geographical positioning. This initiative, led by the NGO Paaryavaran Mitra, sought to advocate for enhanced policy frameworks for these communities from the local government while also capturing the valuable contributions made by their activists. As an Art Director, I played a role in contributing to this initiative.
